Amazon demands GPSR fulfilment

To prepare for the entry into force of the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), Amazon recommends that you fulfil the requirements as quickly as possible.

Amazon has informed its sellers that the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will come into force on 13 December 2024: "If you sell non-food products in the EU and Northern Ireland, you’ll be required to meet General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requirements in 2024. On December 13, 2024, the GPSR will introduce new requirements for most non-food consumer products." To comply with the regulation, you must do the following by this date:

  • Ensure that all products you sell in the EU and Northern Ireland comply with existing labelling and traceability requirements.
  • You must appoint an EU responsible person for these products.
  • Label the products with the contact details of the responsible person, the producer and, if applicable, the importer, the type, batch or serial number, safety information and warnings, if necessary in the language of the country of sale.

In addition, you are obliged to display the following information in online offers:

  • The details of the person responsible and the name and contact details of the producer for each product.
  • A product photo and any other information required to identify the product.
  • Warning and safety instructions in the language of the country in which the product is sold.

To prepare for the entry into force of this regulation, Amazon recommends that you fulfil the requirements as soon as possible.
