Labelling for products in contact with drinking water

This project simplifies the marketing of products used in drinking water installations, such as pipes and bathroom fittings.

EU Directive (EU) 2020/2184 on the quality of water intended for human consumption requires that a positive list (EUPL) be drawn up for materials that come into contact with drinking water by 12 January 2025. This Directive was released under the auspices of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). In addition, products that come into contact with drinking water are to be provided with uniform labelling. The EU Commission has now launched both implementation projects. First results should be available in the 2nd quarter of 2024.

This project simplifies the marketing of products used in drinking water installations, such as pipes and bathroom fittings. Economic operators affected should keep an eye on these projects.
