PPWR Online Training: EU Packaging Regulation
Ready for the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40
The new Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) places numerous obligations on producers, manufacturers, importers and distributors who place packaging or packaged products on the market in the EU.
The PPWR introduces requirements for the entire life cycle of packaging in terms of its environmental sustainability and labelling.
The PPWR officially came into force on 11 February 2025 and will apply from 12 August 2026 after a transitional period. From this date, the PPWR will replace the previous Packaging Directive 94/62/EC. However, some obligations and requirements will become binding before then.
