Risk Management & Recall Management

In Germany, the federal states are responsible for supervising compliance with statutory product safety requirements. According to the Product Safety Act, a monitoring quota of 0.5 articles per 1,000 inhabitants per annum is stipulated – nationwide, therefore, 40,000 articles each year. In 2017 there were 354 notifications of unsafe products in RAPEX. In supplementation, the Federal Network Agency in Germany monitors compliance with the EMC Act. Each year, approximately every 10th initial distributor and every 100th supplier are checked. In 2017, this led to around 460,000 articles having to be taken off the market.
